The gift of giving

Christmas is beyond a doubt the time of sharing & to do good deeds towards others without expecting anything in return. For the last 3 years, we have chosen a different charity to support from to buying a goat from Oxfam in 2011 & in 2010  we collected 3 cartons of packaged & tinned food for Church food hampers .  And this year, we chose the Kmart wishing tree which is a perfect charity to show some love to. Not only will you will brighten the day of someone less fortunate but you will give them hope that all is not lost with an unexpected gift.

A couple weeks back, K-bear & I selected our tags off the Kmart wishing tree; one for a toddler aged 6 months & a grandma. After I wrapped up a lion musical toy & a picnic bag, daddy & K-bear dropped it back at the tree.  My heart melted watching K-bear lugging a gift half his body size & placing it under the tree & waving it bye.

daddy&kbearOn Christmas, I know we will having a moment & smiling thinking about the new homes  these gifts will go to & hopefully they will be well loved.

Is anyone else spreading the Christmas love this year? I would love to know what random acts of kindness you were involved in.
