My partner Mr L has been working his butt off lately & going away quite a bit for work or working long hours into the night most nights. His kind boss to show his appreciation for Mr L’s exceptional work ethic, rewarded him with a lunch out all expenses paid (Whoopee!). After racking our brains on where to go which is toddler friendly we ended up at Millbrook winery, Jarrahdale (Western Australia).
The last time we were here was a few years back at my 27th birthday (or 25.5 years plus gst birthday as I told everyone hee hee). It is as pretty as a picture even with the overcast clouds & occasional sprinkling of rain. We had a wander round the wide open spaces & a quick play in the Wisteria before our tummies rumbled for lunch & we were drawn inside.
A bit of pre-lunch silliness with me tucking my napkin into my shirt (hey I am wearing silk & Im accident prone). Mr L trying out the Autumn Harvest sweet wine & giving me his spiel about it “it has a floral, ripe mandarin & tropical fruit aroma with a richness of flavour that lingers on the palate”. Hmmm very wise darling , it seems the bottle says the very same thing… Coincidence hmmm
We were quite intimidated by the tasting platter when it was brought out. It was so breathtakingly fancy. Could we possibly eat this prettiness? Ah yes we can!!! And it was ah-mazingly yummy. Even licking the plates clean afterwards was a treat ha ha. So many delicious scents were wafting thru the air & our main courses lived up to the tasting platter in taste & presentation. The only downer was lil man was getting restless by this stage so we had to skip dessert.
It was a lovely day out to celebrate family togetherness over good food & wine. A big thank you to the bestest partner Mr L for having a strong work ethic in both your work & family. We will always appreciate you. Your are the calm to our storm. xx
(And thankyou to his boss, you are a star Mr M).
